On Sunday 30th September 2007 Erith & Belvedere beat Phoenix Sports 3-1 in the Kent Youth League. It was a slow start for
Erith & Belvedere as they had not settled down yet and played the football that everyone is used to seeing from the team.
The first goal of the match brought a more up beat game and helped Erith & Belvedere get into the game. This goal was followed by a great goal from Phoenix's striker who then woke up the whole Erith & Belvedere team, whom from then on started to play their football. Half time approached and all Erith & Belvedere players knew that they had to up their game if they were to come out of this game with three points.

The boys came out for the second half and with the right attitude because they immediatley went a goal up. Erith & Belvedere
had now settled down and were playing as a team again with some great over laps and one-twos. Finally Erith & Belvedere put the game to bed with another goal. This got Erith & Belvedere 3 points and added to their tally of points.

Nemo -2, Ryan -1, Luke - 1
On Sunday 21st October 2007, Erith & Belvedere beat Bearsted 4-1 in the Geerings Cup. I'd just like to say a well done to the Erith & Belvedere strikers who all scored a well deserved goal today. This game was played on a nice big pitch and was well used by Erith & Belvedere today. Charlie put some wonderful crosses into the box and we took our chances with a lovely volley from Luke. Erith & Belvedere also got another goal before half time. This goal was well created by Teiren as he hit a lovely chip pass into the feet of Nemo who placed it bottom corner.

The second half began and Erith & Belvdere went out looking for more goals. The boys all worked as a unit and created numerous oppurtunities for themselves. Erith & Belvedere took their chances on two occasions and the goals came from Ryan and Nemo. Kent Youth League / 4th November / Ten-Em-Bee Sports Club
Harry -1, Connor -1, Luke - 1

On Sunday 4th November 2007, Erith & Belvedere drew against Glebe FC in the Kent Youth League. Erith & Belvedere went out strong and battled hard as they were up against some physical players. Erith went down a goal early but that didnt put them down. Connor went up for a corner and headed one in for Erith & Belvedere. Just before half time Luke also scored to put Erith & Belvedere infront. The boys continued to play great football all the way up to the half time whistle, and it was an unpopular decision as Erith & Belvedere were on the counter attack.

Second half and Glebe FC got one back. Erith & Belvedere settled down and started to play nice simple football and Harry scored his first goal for the club. It was a fantastic left footed volley which beat the keeper by a long way. Glebe FC then got a final goal back in the last ten minutes of the game.

Frankie -2

On Sunday 11th November 2007, Erith & Belvedere FC beat Fisher Athletic 2-1 in the Kent Youth League. The goal had broken and was abit of a handfull to fix but they managed to fix it in time for kick off. With it being Rememberance Sunday, both managers wished to observe two minutes silence. Erith & Belvedere didn't play particuly well today and looked as if they were asleep and were immediatley woken up by a goal coming from a Fisher forward. Half time drew closer and Erith & Belvedere needed to come out in the next half with more bite.

Second half kicked off and Erith & Belvedere were first to every ball, every tackle and closed down every shot. Erith & Belvedere set up so many chances with Taylor hitting the post and Nemo with a shot, inches wide. Erith & Belvedere were on a counter attack with Taylor knocking the ball out wide to Frankie, who lobbed the keeper and put both teams on level terms. Minutes later Erith & Belvedere were on the attack again with the ball at Frankie's feet, who drived into the box and slid the ball into the bottom corner of the Fisher goal.

The conditions for today’s match against Corinthian were perfect as was the pitch. Corinthians had won only one game in their last eight matches, but had held Glebe FC, Blackheath Wanderers and Welling to score draw’s so we knew that this was not going to be an easy game.

We fell into the trap by trying to battle and play long balls. Then from the middle of the park Connor took the ball, looked up and threaded a ball on the floor through the defence towards goal, with 2 – 3 yards to catch the chasing defender Luke was off…caught him and slipped the goal into the net.. Quality.

With the football starting to show just before half time the rain started and poured down with the supporters quickly disappearing under the shelter.  We maintained our play and went in at half time 1-0 up.

In the second half the rain eased off and the pitch had not suffered. Nemo worked hard chasing the ball down and running at defenders and ficked a ball through for Hayden to slot awayl. Things now settled down and the team started to play football. Kenzo grabbed our third goal with a nice header to beat the keeper. Our final goal came from a set piece straight from the training ground, Tom headed away the final goal for the game to finish 4 – 0.

A clean sheet from our goal keeper who was quick of the line, brave to an extent of getting clattered off the ball and worthy of his man of the match performance.   Everyone deserves to be named here a good team performance today.

Well done to Corinthians who gave us a good game today, who also like play football as it is intended.
